What are your thoughts on these.
again just from camera to see the capture
The sun had sunk behind the horizon and a storm that wanted to be was going across the other side of the lake
My son is proud as he pressed the button and got the first lightening!
Glad the lightening is hitting the far hills
Lilac and lightening
Getting dark and zappy

#2 and #3 are awesome! How did you go about capturing the lightning? Rapid fire of the shutter?

hi aim54x
"How did you go about capturing the lightning? Rapid fire of the shutter?"
the exact opposite!
Maximum appeture (f22)
Low IS0 200
longest shutter time open
Click - shutter opens, hope lightening comes, click as shutter closes
shots were arond 15 to 30 seconds

That was the other way I was thinking, hmm maybe i'll take that one further, pinhole lens (approx f/200) and keep it open for 10mins!

wow, 2 and 3 are amazing, i love the 3rd due to the balance in the image, its brilliant, i'd pay for a photo like that on my wall. It's amazing how the water looks after your eyes get drawn to it after the lightning. Thanks for the settings you used, i've tried a lot of different settings to capture that sort of shot but never worked out, i think i might borrow your settings for the next stormy night!! Thanks, and great work!
