Ok well i thought its about time I put a photo or two up... had a lot of trouble finding anything to really put up - I am yet to take a single shot that I really really like... but i've been talking about macros on the forum lately and they are definately my weakest spot so i thought why not start with that...these are two that i took in the last wk - nothing special but anywhere is a good place to start.... Bring on the critique (advice) cause i can def use it.... Now to see if i can follow Stubbsy's instructions properly =P

The 2nd one is unusual. It has good colour and composition. It does seem a tad soft on my monitor. How far away from the object was the lens? Were you using a tripod?

Thanks for posting these, and have fun with your new camera!

Ozi.

Knowing Mozzie most likely hand held with her EF-S 60mm (which she has a love/hate relationship with).

I like #2, nice colours and DOF is good.

Being a total sucker for flower shots I must say that #1 is a beauty. It’s sharp where it needs to be and the OOF flower in the background just adds that more depth.
