Erhu

I took this photo about three or four years ago in one of the many gardens in Beijing.
I was impressed by the unusual sound of the instrument and the skill and serene
expression of the player. I thought the man was begging so I deposited a US $ note
to the laughter of the passers by around me. Unfortunately I did not have an SLR
at the time, and I could only take jpgs. I cropped the photo, sharpened it a bit
and added a vignette. I hope you like it.

I think I'd like this image more if it had less/no vignette..I'm not sure it suits this portrait.

I like it with the vignett;;;;er...dark corners. :D :D It has a serenity about it that is just charming.

I agree with matt. This photo is classical and the darkening only goes to lift the subject out of the background. A lovely shot.
