Close crop Rainbow lorrieThis was shot not long after getting my D700 1000 ISO Shot in bright sunlight monopod Sigma 300mm + 2X TC 1600@ f 7.1..... I have included the full frame of this image to show the quality that can be obtained from 3rd party lens and Nikon bodies

...... none at all.... but I did process in NX2 and made sure the noise reduction and sharping were both at "O"........ cropping and unsharp mask done in PSCS3 Cheers ....bp....
