Backlighting for roses

Some subjects just cry out for backlighting....glassware. silk, roses, butterflies etc. These blooms were shot against a window and spot metered.

Nice trick for getting a white background! Are they moving? I feel like i am seeing double?

There appears to be some form of shadow that is giving the effect of movement. Matt, I shoot against white all of the time but your image does nothing for me as it seems to lack both contrast and saturation. It looks as if the spot metering has been shot to pieces by flare. Love the roses tho’ :)

The dreamy look certainly works for the subject matter -roses, and the background does highlight them.
