Hi everyone

Tonight I had the pleasure of meeting several forum members at the zoo... and had a play with some new lenses (thanks guys!)

As I havent got a flickr account or similar, some of my pics can be seen at this URL:

These are my first 'real' pics with my D90! Looking forward to your thoughts, bearing in mind using manual functions on a DSLR is totally new to me and I am still wearing my L plates!

Cheers

Cathy

No 5 is a cracker with the lioness bearing her fangs..I like the shots with eye-contact best seems like you put the new D90 to good use.
Any videos from the zoo?

cheers,
Ken

Thanks Ken :-) That photo is part of a series of about 8 photos where she is having a big yawn - I will put the series up as a separate album later as they look good as a sequence. Didnt take any video this time but looking forward to playing with that feature! Thanks for taking the time to have a look at my photos.

Some nice pictures! I quite like the expression on the last one, such a forlorn look. Maybe some extra contrast on the pictures, some seem a little 'washed' out

Cathy - a promising start to your photography at the Adelaide Zoo. Some saturation is required to your shot of the Sumatran Tiger. The shots of the male Lion - Majumbi bottom left of your thread, is suffering from light reflecting off the fence, even though it was overcast last night. This can be rectified in PP. My recommendations would be to see your camera course through to the end at WEA, and just go out at every opportunity and practice. Practice makes perfect.

I still chuckle at the bit where we all walked off and you were left standing there with a 300 2.8 AF-S VR on your D90 cause you were too scared to move it

And those famous words uttered every 10 seconds... "BUZZZZZ" For the record the dynamo went to bed at 1145 pm..... :x

I reckon you should rename him "Rocket" that kid's got some speed to him!!

The look on her face when you offered it to her was priceless!

I havnt had a chance to check many of my shots from the day, had to source a RAW plugin for the new body and photoshop/bridge, and thats about as far as i got!

Shots look good though.... fingers crossed mine look like any of them!
