Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent. Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature. Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Re: colin's weekender tenThe first image is nice, good choice for BW. It is also a different perspective from normal portraits (the limited ones I have seen anyway!)
Looks like a dude not to mess with too! gerry's photography journey
No amount of processing will fix bad composition - trust me i have tried.

Re: colin's weekender ten both comments, so I will just add that I love #2
The cluster of attention around the present opening, but the isolated figure (GrandDad?) looking on with interest, but remaining apart is what really makes it for me. I assume it is a candid. If so, brilliantly spotted and framed. Greg

Re: colin's weekender tenNice work, Colin.
A great capture in number 3. Lovely light.
Re: colin's weekender tenThanks all,
The loner is her great uncle Greg. He is happy to get in on the action occasionally. All are candids with natural light and iso 1600 at around f5.6 or so and varying speeds on the 80mm 1.8. Was the first real run with the new body. The boss was happy with the pics so all is well. Regards Colin Regards Colin
