I was in the area so I went for a stroll with my D300, I never cease to be amazed by the high ISO ability of this camera

Cameron - I really like the composition of the second shot, but I'm not sure on the colour/WB. Maybe this could be a B & W

Thanks Peter. I agree with the uncertainty of the colour/WB, when I get onto my computer next I'll do a conversion and post it up.

Yes. They closed the prison and moved you to another facility, didn't they? :)

In another life, we used to live in Seven Hills, and spent quite a bit of time in Parramattatta. Used to work there too, not to mention shooting quite a few weddings at All Saints on Victoria Road, as well as at St Johns (IIRC) which is in the background of #3 and the detail in #4.

I'm trying to figure out where #1 is. It looks like it's taken from the western end of the station, where the street on the south of the station intersects with Church St. Behind you would be Westfield. The station is the building up the road and on the left, and directly opposite the station there used to be a Camera House store; that now looks like a whole new building. What keeps me from that as the location is the fact that the bus interchange was always on the northern side of the station, at the eastern end of the station, and this could also , and just as easily, be an image of that as well.

Yep, they sure did. Washed laundry for many a year, then got moved to Bathurst! :D :D

I attended Arthur Phillip High School in the 70s. It wasn't much of a school back then, but I think things have changed somewhat since. Since I left, that is!
I played league on Cumberland oval, cricket at Olly Web oval, and frequented numerous snooker rooms in the area during lunch breaks. Oh, and I did work at Westfields (Waltons) for 5 years too. Seven Hills? Nah, too far west! :D

As for photo #1, it's definitely the station, but it's so long since I've been there, I don't recognise the newer buildings.

You have to love Google Maps, this is where I took that picture from *roughly*. It really is amazing how much Parramatta has changed, when I was last down there in 2004 that whole area looked very different to what it does now. I dont head out to Parramatta very often.

Indeed, thanx for that.

My first thoughts were correct. What used to be a public street on the souther side of the station is now referred to as the "Liverpool-Parramatta Transitway"
