Yesterdays StormHi All
We had a horrendous storm come through SE Queensland yesterday arvo, the worst I have ever seen and really quite frightening. Here are some pics I took before, during and after. The calm before the storm! During the storm - note the kids trampoline has gone with the wind, and you can just make out the hail stones lying on the deck/grass Some of the hail stones held in my daughters hands - you would not believe the noise these made on out tin roof! And some damage to trees in our garden, which if it were not for the tree on the right would have come into contact with our house - scary thought! We were without power for approx 12 hours but some homes are still without, some 22 hours later. Re: Yesterdays StormHi Geoff - glad to see you are ok !!
Would have been bloody scary up there yesterday - we just finished doing a 2 week fauna survey at Eagle Heights and down at Wongawallan, and pulled out all of our gear on Saturday morning - think we finished just in time !!!! Next time we are up there, how about a coffee ? Dodging and burning are steps to take care of mistakes God made in establishing tonal relationships! -Ansel Adams

saw it on the news last night. The Gap was hit very hard. Anyone know the photog who was killed in a drain? Apparently he was shooting inside a drain.
Re: Yesterdays StormGeoff,
I think I saw the trampoline out sailing past the beach earlier this morning. Looks bloody nasty though; the images on tv were very graphic. Glad you're ok. g.

Re: Yesterdays StormI hope the "photographer" that was killed wasn't a DSLRUser.
Re: Yesterdays StormHi All
We retrieved the trampoline from the neighbours fence and after the storm passed and the clear up of the yard yesterday we were fortunate not to have too much damage - the damaged tree needs to be cleared with the aid of a cherry picker ($$$ ), we also had a broken window in the bathroom due to the hail. Our car was not in the garage at the time and remarkably had no damage. Venturing out today there are a lot limbs from trees along the roadside and some homes with quite extensive damage, will be some time before everything is back to normal. Without power, we are also without water as we are on tank water only. We have now purchased a small generator, just in case! Rel, would love to do coffee.
