Inspired by RelRel's fantastic frog calling photographs got me out last night to photograph the Peron's tree frogs, Litoria peronii, around the tadpool. After fighting the mozzies, I managed to get a few shots that weren't too bad - although the backgrounds are crap.
The first frogs I saw were in amplexus: The second had been calling, but I couldn't keep still because of the mozzies, so I didn't get him with his throat fully inflated. Later, it appear that another male was serenading the female who already had a mate.
Re: Inspired by RelGreat shots Andrew,
The third should be in a caption competition.... 7D, 60D, 70-200mm f/4LIS, 17-50mm f/2.8, 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5, 50mm f/1.4, 100mm f/2.8 Macro, 580EX II
Re: Inspired by RelThe third shot cracked me up - just look at the eyes of the male frog who was 'successful' - the eyes of pure bliss, and the female, big wide pupils checking out her next suiter !! LOL
Great shots Andrew - beautiful colour in the thigh of the first male - lucky you having them in amplexus in your own front yard - I have to go looking for them !!! More please ?? Dodging and burning are steps to take care of mistakes God made in establishing tonal relationships! -Ansel Adams
