These were taken a bit later on in the evening, again at Whale Beach.
Off camera flash was used (thanks Wocka for being a great assistant):

First up, congratulations Belinda and Geoff (sorry I could not be there on the day).

#1 - Sea is not straight. Lighting too harsh. Closer with WA lens would have given more impact.

#2 - See #1

#3 - See #1

#4 - Lighting is far too harsh and too directional

#5 - Sea still not straight but the best of the five shots as the subject fills the frame more

:agree: In both these and the last set, one or two "artistic" shots with the horizon off looks good, but across these two series it looks like the photog was on a lean all day. As a set I think this starts to detract from some otherwise excellent shots.

Ant.

agree about the horizons, needs a little straightening. otherwise i will have to disagree with chris here for a change. i think the lighting is superb. i think its supposed to be vivid and contrasty so the lighting suits what i think the mood actually is.

the only slight issue i have with #1 is the pose. looks like she's pulling away and you're chasing here down. now, that may be the case in real life but i think the pose in #2 is sensational. great set.

#4 and #5 are my favourites but that horizon in #5 does have to be straightened and the directional light in #4 could be softened up a little.

Looks like you were in capable hands though.

Geoff, I think Grant has really done wonders with the amazing sunset that you had that afternoon. I really like the use of flash in these, sure, slightly softer light would have been nice, but, to me, that is only a small niggle in otherwise fantastic shots (yeah, I do agree with previous comments about the horizon).

Also, it would have looked better if you had a great big Mo!!!

These are brilliant! I didn't even notice the horizon issue until it was pointed out. Great use of off camera flash. I would be chuffed have these as my wedding photos.

I love the lighting but I have to agree with some of the comments here in relation to the horizon not being straight.

Thanks for sharing.

Excellent images Geoff at the right time of day for such things. (I shot a wedding a few weeks back at midday and it was a headache at times with the glare).

As for the second, your missus must be very flexible... :D

Wow, I love the strong orange color you capture on that shoot. Great lighting and composition!

Did you underexpose for the sky to get those saturated colors or in PP?

Thanks Devilla - the light was indeed amazing!
I'm not sure what our photog did for the sky, but I think there has been a moderate amount of PP on these, that said we are still very happy with them and I don't think he's pushed them too far.

Great images - they have an immediate impact, and I'm sure will still evoke great memories in years to come. Are you going to have a go at the current TTD (Trash The Dress) fad?

Geoff looks bad enough in a dry dress, let alone a wet, white one!

Bel doesn't want to see him in a dress either. :)

Since when have the terms "married" and "joint decisions" ever existed in the same sentenc without being qualified by the phrase "never again"? :D :D
