Wow! Those first two really make me sit up in my chair. Literally. Gorgeous images. Maybe just a little oversharpened in PP?

I Love Mt Sefton... Its even better when you climb the ridge to the left of that image up to Mueller hut, from there you can see the 100M thick walls of ice!

NZ... There is no competition...

Amazing... We could hear the thunder from them as they groaned and shifted in the sunlight as we walked the Hooker Trail.

WOW!

You've really got this pano thing happening, Alistair. Great work. :D

I think image #2 is breathtaking - fabulous composition, outstanding colour & the tonal range is superb. Whilst there is a lot of foreground, it is graduated in texture and shade. Very well done indeed!

But I have a question about panos - do you make them to print, or for monitor viewing? I'm just not sure of the way you'd best display them. I'm thinking maybe by print, as the scrolling required on the monitor means that you almost never see the full impact of the total view.

What do people think :?:

#2 is great

#1 is great, but I would have liked to have seen it wider ie. more shots to make up the pano.

I always take my panos in portrait orientation to increase the final resolution and vertical aspect. 6, 10 and 10 pics for each pano respectively.

Great work Alistair, brings back all the memories from last September, there was much more snow around then, I can't wait to get back there!

Microsoft Digital Image Pro 10... uses the same algorithm as AutoStitch but handles 16bit tiff as input. Sometimes when I get serious, I've been using PTmac which is a Mac frontend for PanoTools and finish off in PhotoShop CS for PP.
