Just stopped for a cup of tea five minutes ago and noticed a few birds outside. Naturally when I came out with the camera the interesting birds had gone and I was left with a few pigeons. Very pleased with the results with the teleconverter.

We have just finished Peking duck now we have pigeon for entrees

It was a Christmas present Kipper, so pulled it out of the box Christmas Day

250mm at F8 1/125 sec MHD. I must say it is a nice lens, shoot and you usually get a result

Glen, I must say I hate pigeons. They always seem to scare the BJesus out of you when you happen to come round a corner and not to mention the left overs of their diet.

I'm with Birddog, put em on a plate and some nice plum sauce

The shot is great, beautiful Bokeh and light falling on the Bird.

Glen - a really nice shot, even if it is a pidgeon. That lens is certainly a winner - but watch the caffeine

Great shot. You can see every detail on the bird. Makes the prosaic look fantastic.

This has to be my favourite lens. It just gives magic shots straight out of the camera and, as has already been observed, has such wonderful bokeh. I'm finding this lens on my camera more than my 24-120 VR

ahhh... 250mm and sharp as a tack... how sweet it is...

Can some one drive to my neighbourhood with TC + VR in car and leave it unlocked?

Stubbsy, I must say it is easily the best lens I own and my favourite. You are right, straight out of the camera the shots work. Great detail (though if I was a real photographer would have taken it at 5.6 to lose the twig behind, didn't because was trying to keep the whole bird in focus) and the boke is just tremendous. You wouldn't even realise there was a blue falcon in the background (I live in an urban enviroment). Love that lens

Mic, since you asked, I believe Glen took one this monring with the 70-200 just after he shot the pigeon. Maybe he could post it for you

Gees stubbsy, do ya think we might be able to look at such a nice piece of Bird on this Forum I've heard Glen keeps these shots tucked away in a shoe box somewhere unknown.
