Night action shots

I am still having difficulties taking good shots at night with fast moving subjects. C&C thanks.

If you could provide a little technical detail on your shots it may help with some tips.

I dont mind the second, but the flash has stopped the motion a little to much.

Note that is the nature of flash. At "full power" the flash duration is around 1/1000s and as the "power" goes down, the duration is even shorter. The only way to simulate motion when using flash is use rear curtain sync, go for a slow shutter speed and hope there is enough ambient light to get some image before the flash fires.

I do not understand the comment about the second photo - the wheels show a good amount of motion blur, conveying motion. I think it is a well lit photo and the factt hat there is motion blur in the wheels is excellent.
