This one is from my first evening outing attempting to capture night lights.
Had many failures of course as is natural when experimenting, but I thought this one worked pretty well.
Some minimal pp has been done, levels, curves & usm. The low noise level at iso 3200 impressed me.

exif - 50mm, 1/10", f2.8, iso 3200.

Merry Christmas to all and your families and all the best for 2009.

Cheers, John

I really like it - the colours really "pop" and the low noise does look great.

Thanks for the comments, guys.

Having a lot of fun with the D90. Hopefully one day my skills & vision will catch up up to the camera's abilities. :)

Brocot, when I go back for another session, I will remember to take the tripod.

Cheers, John

A tripod is a great tool for night shooting.

Great shots from both D90's, although I have a D300 I rarely crank mine up past 1600 ISO.

I agree, the graining becomes more noticable after 1600 in low light, although I am really impressed with the D90's results @ 1600 ISO.

Very nice, the grain is there, but still very acceptable. Have you guys cranked it up to 6400 ISO?? I find it gives my photos a very 'arty' effect on the D300
