The storm season has begun early and we have had some beauties already. These 2 images were captured in the past week and a half

The second shot is totally amazing! I really like "bright" night shots.

I like how bright and sunny it is 'outside' the storm in the first one. it's a great capture, well done.
The second is stunning, and it's full of energy (pardon the pun)
Personally i would prefer the sky to be a little darker, to add even more drama. but that's just a taste thing.

Both awesome shots Steve. Really like the sense of foreboding presented in the first and the juxtaposition of the horizon and fence length against the curved layers of the approaching storm really creates a visual appeal. Fantastic timing and exposure in the second.
cheers

Great shots Steve,
I'm in Toowoomba at the moment and packed my camera and tripod just in case. But I was locked away in the studio when the storm came through here last night/evening. As i ran out the door it was in the distance but the fog was also really thick so I missed it all!

Nice shots Steve.
Have a look here:
http://www.bom.gov.au/calendar/I have the 2009 calendar, and it's really nicely made.
I'd be entering your first picture...
What lens did you use for the first, or is this a pano stitch?

Thanks for the comments. I think that I might put the first one into the BOM competition. Thanks for the link.
