The following negs were taken quite some time ago and scanned at 2400 DPI on a V700. No particular care was take with the scan. The images printed on Epson Archival Matt paper display a full range of tones and the prints are rather beautiful.
Posting the images here via Pbase does not do the images justice.


A 100% crop....

I love the first - it appears that there are two light sources, one of which directed at the tree, providing a great deal of depth to the image. What film?

I had a discussion with Stubbsy last night on why these images looked so bad when posted on the forum but the prints themselves are brilliant. Apparently, and this caught me off guard, because they were greyscale mode and not sRGB the web conversion just screwed them up. I'll need to take more care with this. The second light source you're seing is probably light bouncing off the snow and producing a strong fill.

That, and I think the snow on the tree itself adds the effect of specular highlights (in my view, anyway).
