Sort of abstracts

Here are some miscellaneous abstracts... Actually looking at them now, they probably aren't strictly abstracts, but close enough.

The imperial garden, Tokyo:

A Tanuki army:

The tunnel to the Miho museum:

Thanks.
I actually thought the 3rd shot was not really as strong as the others. Don't know why.
What do you see in it?

I'm with the others - the last 2 shots rock. Great use of symmetry, repeating forms and perspective.

I like #2 and #4 the best, followed by #3 the angle just doesn't work for me, but the lines are good just a different crop or orientation would have me straining my neck less :)

#4 for me - this would look GREAT nice and big on a wall.

I would call them Patterns rather than Abstracts, and I agree with the others, great stuff.

My favourite is #1, has a very nice feel to it.

Thanks. I do like a good set of lines. :)
I guess I subconsciously find the roof lines coming down break up the leading lines leading into the far distant rubbish bin. :D

Yes I admit the angle is unfortunate. It was a multi-shot HDR and I was using a table-top tripod being held firmly to the side wall. It was jolly awkward and uncomfortable. Unfortunately, my later straighter shots were blurred so not usable.
Perhaps you'd prefer this angle:

I'm glad someone liked my favourite too (#1). 8)
I agree they are closer to patterns. Although I've got a separate collection of those, mainly stonework.

Thanks. It was a great tunnel.
It was nice to just walk around the sweeping bend (dodging the occasional golf cart).
The Japanese do great tunnels. :D
