....and of course my daughters. Not sure if I prefer the B&W or the colour version. The hair across the face of the eldest (on left) is a bit annoying and I have tried to clone out without success, so left as is. C&C appreciated.

Hmmm..I like both versions but I'm teetering on the colour...why?
I think the B&W/conversion makes this look like a reaaaaaaaaaaaaaly old style/fashioned photograph..now that's not necessarily a bad thing, just how I see it. I think sepia would do this even more.
Alas, and none-the-less...great image, well done Geoff (with the same spelling..legend!) :)
A bit of patience and time and I think you could successfully get rid of the hair, if you are keen on this Geoff, I know a specialist in the field and could have it done for you in the blink (well nearly) of an eye...just say the word. I gave it a go, but I've had one too many beverages this lovely summer's evening and well...*hic*.

I really like the B&W version Geoff. looks great.

Personally, I wouldn't worry about the hair, adds to the charm.

I do like Geoff's suggestion of Sepia too, would be worth a crack
(and if you have Lightroom 2, there are some excellent presets
which would be worth a try)

The B&W version..........I love it! It looks like a Dianne Arbus masterpiece in its tonality and composition. Great job! The hair across the face takes nothing away from the image and should be left there IMO.

Hi Guys

Thanks for the feedback, I still like both but with a leaning toward the B&W. The wife prefers the colour and therefore I have printed the colour version, but as a 10" square crop to suit a frame I already had.

I also tried a sepia version (using LR2), but was not keen on the outcome, I do prefer my B&W's to be just that - B&W.

Matt - I confess to not knowing of Diane Arbus, but have since googled her work, which I like and agree that my picture does emulate some of her work.

I love them both but the color version needs the background color to be adjusted so it's not beige color...

Wonderful capture!

Without looking at the 2nd photo, I thought it was a scanned and digitally enhanced 1940's photo. :P
