Nothing on telly tonight so thought it was time to put biggerry's pano tips to the test.

Here is the first result. 6 images D80 with 50mm f/1.8 - probably could have done with a shorter focal length but new years resolution was to use the 50mm more often. Feedback welcome. More to process tomorrow.

My first question is what do you think of this? How do you think it might be improved?

Not a bad first go at stitching - I found stitching fun at first but havent done any in a few years. Are you going to register the software so you can get rid of the watermarks?

my first impression is that there is either too much or not enough bridge in the frame - i cant tell whether I should be focusing on the bridge or the opera house. With 6 shots you should have ample resolution there to crop from the bottom, top and RH side?

The image seems a little dark overall (could be my monitor - i do like them darkish) maybe a little exposure adjustment might help.

The 50mm is probably a good lens choice for this, however I would consider using a smaller f number and longer shutter speed.

Regarding stitching - nowadays this should be a no brainer I would have thought, even held shots with only 1/4 or less overlap you can get software like ptGUI to join 'em nicely.

not too shabby for a first crack imho.
