Chris,
What a lovely image.
The colours in this are just beautiful, as is your use of the light. Brightness and contrast, sharp where it should be, soft where it should be, and the sense of decay within the beauty ....

Exhaustion describes the image very well. As Gary says, brightness, contrast and sharpness are great. At first I didn't like the leaf (or whatever it is) growing up through the flower but the more I look the more appropriate I think it is with the theme - life goes on.

I actually find interesting contrasts in this picture (in a good way). Titled 'exhaustion', but the 'cool' feel to the the picture in both the white balance and the physical water droplets indicates refreshment and new plant 'crispness' (great technical terms as usual
).

Indeed they are but I am a great believer in the school of thought that says if a highlight is contained within a field of contrast then they can be acceptable

The question is really one of "do the blown highlights detract from the image?", and in this case, my answer would be "no".
