Late with the fireworks

I've finally managed to process my images from NYE '08 in Sydney. Below are four that appeal to me. Another 47 images are HERE.

I'm much happier with these than my first efforts at taking fireworks shots NYE '07 since I have some water reflections in these. The experience from that first attempt helped too of course. My next attempt at fireworks will be perfect since I now know what I did wrong this second time as well

All good Peter but #3 is the standout to my eyes - nice action and sharp :D

Nice work Peter, I had a good look though you 07 series and you have definitely done better this year, with that said most of you 07 shots are pretty darn fine too, just those damn people in the way :D

Your 08 shots are great - you had a prime position there by the looks of it, I think some of your other photos are definitely worthy of a mention (#7 the red fireworks and #20 blue fireworks

I notice most of your shots look very clean and clear even though there was quite some smoke, was that just due to the fact you were on the right side on the night or did you work your PP wand?

These are superb, looks like a great position. Can I ask where these were taken from. MIght try to get a spot there next year.

Some great shots of a heavily photographed event. They may be late but well worth the weight.

Cheers

Well done Peter - MUCH better than last year :)

I gotta say though that my favourite - the last one - doesn't have any fireworks in it! It shows the crowded harbour nicely, has really great reflections, and has an atmosphere that the other shots seem to have lost with the overwhelming firework activity.

You're almost suffering from being TOO close with these - maybe next year you should let someone else have that spot ;)
