2 Rare frogs

Ok - back to normal now :)
The reason we went to O'Reilly's was to find 2 rare frogs, the marsupial or pouched frog, Assa darlingtoni and the whirring tree frog, Litoria revelata.

Assa darlingtoni - These frogs do not need water to breed. The female lays her eggs on the ground and both sexes guard them. When the tadpoles hatch out the male climbs amongst the eggs and coats himself in the jelly. This allows the tadpoles to slide over the male's body and wriggle into the skin pockets along his sides. The tadpoles leave the pouch when they are fully developed frogs. (http://frogsaustralia.net.au/frogs/disp ... ?frog_id=3) Cute frog, but bloody small and hard to find !! ;)

Litoria revelata - Males call during spring, summer and autumn from vegetation or near flooded areas. Breeding mainly occurs in September, February and April. Reference http://frogsaustralia.net.au/frogs/disp ... rog_id=181

Great pics, and the little nature lesson with the photos is wonderful. #2 is my favorite, though the story behind #1 is fascinating.

#2 looks a little disgruntled, because you woke him up. Great picture!

Two great shots as always, Rel.

As I mentioned in the snake thread, they don't seem to be as sharp as your usual stuff. Are you doing your post processing different to before?
