I went to the Falls festival outside of Lorne for new years eve and was lucky enough to have a few days in Melbourne with friends on either side. Photography was secondary on this trip so no goodies from the Great Ocean Road and such but these are a few from wandering the streets of Melbourne.

My favourite is the last, I like the cool tones, angles and lines.

#1 Is interesting, the bike seems like the subject, is in focus, yet the leading lines lead you down the alley to the people walking in the background, these elements compete for the viewers attention and leave me wondering where I should be looking.

#2. I feel like it could do with a tad of contrast (on my unprofiled screen) and it seems a little soft, not sure if that's because the focus was on the guy.

#3 These one works better then the last, the colour / contrast seems better, and its sharper too.

#1 is classic Caledonia lane, well done. Keeping the people out of focus may have been for the best, as the 'wildlife' that inhabit the lane are often rather strange :)

#2 is fun, but I'm not sure where I'm meant to look. Unfortunately you're working with found art, so you're not really to blame there.

#3 - Isn't it easy to get hooked on Melbourne's graffiti lanes? :D

#4 is tasty and easy to view. As a local I think you really captured a unique POV there. This is definitely the least 'Melbourne' of the four!
