Macro's

Last weekend we planted some new shrubs in the garden, within 1/2 hour of planting, this one atttracted this flying beetle type thingy! It did not seem to want to eat the plant so I let it stay while I took a few pics.

This one was taken with the 18-200VR with a Canon :twisted: 500D filter attached - hand held 1/40s f8 @ 200mm

...and the next two were taken with 60mm micro - on tripod with SB800 fill flash, 1/60 f25.

Geoff, you have some nice macros of a cowboy beetle, Chondropyga dorsalis.

I prefer the first one because of the nice even lighting. You could increase the exposure a bit and also the shadows to bring out a bit more detail.

The other two are good, too.
