It was total luck. I had just gotten home from work and was getting ready to head out to meet my family for dinner. A friend called and said "Mt St. Helen's just erupted!"
So I grabbed my camera and flew out as fast as I could to find a spot to take some decent shots. The locale was suggested by my wife. Kudos to her!!!!!

I'm here for you. And still in one piece. Actually I was quite far away, but thankfully the Nikon 70-300G lens took me where no man (at least me) has gone before.
