Into beetles?

I have always liked these little fellows.

Chrysolopus spectabilis (Botany Bay weevil)

Does this appear dark or light to others?

I don't have real concerns with the shot, but if I was being picky I'd say it's over flashed. If I was being extra picky I'd say it's a bit too saturated as well.

Regardless it's a great sharp capture so don't stress over it. :wink:

G'day Colin. I agree with Peter, the flash may be a little harsh. You may be able to pull a bit back by lowering the contrast.

Over flashed is a definate as I was up at a mates place without my latest ATJ softbox.
I will give the contrast a nudge and see what I get.

That is better, but you are now starting to lose detail from the weevil.

I think the "beetle" is great in the first shot, and just the wood wants darkening down.
Second shot now just looks too flat (on my monitor)
