The angle on the first shot is great. It is a pity the eye and face is not sharp.
The second one shows the metamorphosis well, but is not as strong as the first.
How large was this froglet?

it was quite large ... roughly 50-60mm

I thought they'd be large. I have never seen a froglet or a tadpole of these guys, only the adults (which are huge).
