On The Edge Of Space

I call this image, 'On The Edge Of Space' for obvious reasons. I photographed this at high altitude 'somewhere' over South Australia last week during the heatwave. I used a Panasonic Lumix P&S as using a DSLR on an aeroplane can be a bit clumsy.

The temperature outside here was about 95 degrees LESS than at ground level.

Great picture, no doubts it does look like the edge of space. What were you flying in?

Excellent. I like how it gets clearer further from the ground.

Just a run-of-the-mill, common or garden variety Qantas 767, but we had to increase altitude to avoid some dirty air, apparently. We still hit it and got bucketed around for about one hour. Unfortunately the great view was short lived as we flew over an enormous mass of cloud all the way from SA to Perth.
