Sumatran tiger BW treatment with DxO

I am keen to do a lot more BW printing this year and am currently looking over the various BW programs and processes available. I have CS3 and look forward to learning a heap more about using Channels etc to fine tune BW.

DxO Film Pack offers some nice film style finishes (IMHO only)so it was nice to get the trial program and have a play.

I have heard of velvia, XP2 etc spoken of with glowing terms but having never used them myself this is an interesting little journey!

CC welcome on this one using the Ilford XP2 treatment.

cheers

done..not that anyone was commenting on my first attempt at using this trial software. this was done with no knowledge of the difference between Tri X, velvia or XP2, so just a little experimenting.

I was just looking for any feedback from others who use this program (DxO Film Pack) and its effectiveness in reproducing some of the old film finishes. Not sure to invest in it or learn the hard way using CS3 and channels.

Somehow it seems like cheating just using a couple of sliders to make quite dramatic changes to images and recapturing some of the grain and textures of film.

Still its fun using the trial progam to get a taste for it..still 14 days left to play and run some sport pics through it which is what I am really interested in.

cheers
