Flowers Afloat

I was performing a semi regular image backup today and discovered around 600 images taken last October that I'd never got around to post processing. Suddenly it's spring again! These images were taken during a visit to Newcastle by christiand and his wife Annette.

All shots are moderately high ISO as indicated (I wanted a fast shutter speed, but was avoiding the use of flash) and apart from the first have had some noise reduction in PP

Pretty neat how the reflection in the first looks like branches with the flowers attached.
Nicely done.

The first one I expect to see a bride or similiar in the reflection! Very nice. The last one is a standout for me, the contrast of the flower with the harsh dark background of the water really works for me.

Some very nice images there, Peter. I love the colours and contrast between bright and dark. I like No. 1 the most.

And it took a while to get it just right too - I have maybe 20 variants at slightly different elevations and angles.

Thank you all for your comments.

Hi Peter,

they are beautiful shots - I remember the objects very well :D
Thanks for having had us and taking us to the Hunter Gardens last October.
