We had a meet up at the Adelaide Botanic Gardens to exercise our macro shooting.

Here's some of my shots from the day...






Most of these shots are heavily cropped (some equivalent to 2Mpx), so they're not great but I think they came up OK.

The third shot is fantastic. Which lens did you use for that one?

agree with Dan love the fly (perhaps desatuarte the yellow a tad?it really jumps out on my screeen)
and the dragon fly was worth the wait

Thanks. My macros were all done with the Sigma 150mm f/2.8 lens.
But keep in mind I did a hard crop on that one in post-processing. Having said that, I did not get close enough to a 1:1, so you can do better.

Thanks Deb. Yes the yellow was blown and I couldn't bring it back, even shooting raw!

Hi Daniel, Well i miss out on all the fun,LOL but i like #2 others good as well and well done as i have neve got into this stuff, infact i have been very slack lately, too busy fishing.

It was a good day. One good thing about macro is you can find things to shoot anywhere.
Perhaps you when you take a break from the high pressure world of fishing you can relax with some quiet macros.
