October Rain

A few flower pics taken at Hunter Valley Gardens last October. The weather was not the best in some ways (overcast and drizzly) so no good wide shots, but the even light and the rain on the flowers added to the close images. All shots taken using the 28-70 f2.8 Nikkor

Are they all deliberately centred like that? They seem well-executed but a bit formulaic.

:agree: about the composition...

Don't they advise to carry a spray of water when you do flower shots.... 8)

I would like to see the second of these in a square crop, Peter.

That's a fair call. I've reviewed the entire group I've PPd so far and yes they are all very formulaic  I should know better too. I have real problems cropping and framing shots like these because there is essentially a single subject. I've redone a few - these are different crops of the last two images (with a slightly different PP treatment as well)

And here is a new one intentionally uncentred. Is this better?

Yep - fortunately nature's water bottle did it for me with these.
