Here is an image of a friend's little boy and his grandmother enjoying a tranquil moment while I was experimenting with my new lens (Canon EF 70-200 2.8L). I was playing with aperture to explore DOF and bokeh but I thought it was a nice image. Looked OK on my iMac at home but seems a little blown-out on the laptop at work (it is 7 years old but these PowerBooks just keep going...... ).

Certainly looks relaxing and the water has come up well - were you using a polarising filter ?
Must admidt the posting size makes it difficult to view the whole photo on my screen so probably not getting the most from it having to scroll - background DOF a nice touch.
DebT PS are you having any front/back focusing issues with the 70-200? mine is not quite right on IS so wondering if it is a common problem.

no polariser. I've been looking at Kenko and Hoya but there seems to be quite a variation in price form the standard through to the "pro" and I'm not sure yet what the difference in quality would be.

I've edited the post so a smaller version is posted with a link to the original posted size (800px tall).

As far as the focusing issues go, I haven't done enough to test it out. What would the symptoms be and how would I test it specifically? Mine is the non-IS version by the way.
