Mantis

Came home from teaching today to find my little girl and wife have put a mantis in a big container and built a little habitat for him untill i got home. :D

#2 is a cracker imo.

great composition and it just seems the little guy is saying 'you can't see me!' :wink:

any chance of seeing the exif data? in particular aperture and focal length...

Exif as follows,

#1 . 105mm , 1/60th @ F20 @ ISO100
#2 . 105mm , 1/250th @ F18 @ ISO100
#3 . 105mm , 1/250th @ F29 @ ISO100

All shots were taken using an SB600 in a home made softbox (ust like ATJ's),using MY SB800 with a difuser on camera to trigger it, both on manual at varying powers.

The mantis himself was on a sheet of A3 white paper draped up the wall gently enough to show no creases.

Very nice.

I usually much prefer bug shots in their natural surroundings but the contrast between the bug and the background in these are great.

Number 3 for me.. just to be different :)

Nice even lighting and soft shadows - love it on the white background.
#2 should be on a TShirt with a wity caption
