Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent. Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature. Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread. Please also ensure that you have a meaningful location included in your profile. Please refer to the FAQ for details of what "meaningful" is.

Abandoned and forgottenCame across a little clearing whilst driving along the Murray River near Mildura. The hut looked like it had seen much better days, and was infested with doves.

Re: Abandoned and forgottenMonty these are just superb. Subject, angles and in particular your PP to turn these pics into sepia masterpieces has all worked. Oh! did I say I like them

Re: Abandoned and forgottenLovely images Monty. The treatment, I agree with Chris, is well suited to the images. I particularly like the second image and the mood created there which is enhanced by your composition. Mission accomplished I'd say Monty
cheers marco
Re: Abandoned and forgottenWhile I like the images, I must admit that I'm not a fan of the treatment (sorry ) - maybe it is just me, but the shots seem to be a little too muddy as a result of the treatment ... but that is just my opinion

Re: Abandoned and forgottenI'm not sure I like the treatment. I sort of do because it is reminiscent of prints I have from the 70s that I took with a Kodak Instamatic, but then given they were taken with an SLR in the naughties it sort of cheapens them. That could just be me, though.
