shooting into the sunI went out to take some shots at a 6 lane wide road, but it was too busy. There I decided to try shooting into the sun. It would have really helped if I brought TWO flashes with some hotshoe stands. I only had one sb600 on me sans-stand, I can fix anything - I have electrical tape!
Here are some results. This is actually my own car because I had no-one else that could come along, the first shot (best shot?) was actually a test shot, improperly framed. Minimal processing - some exposure adjustment, fill light and contrast (to even it out), nothing drastic. CnC welcome. (dB) image gallery
Re: shooting into the sunI like the 3rd of these best. The first is good, although there is too much space above the car, I feel. I believe the composition in the second one is unbalanced.

Two or three lights, any lens on a light-tight box are sufficient for the realisation of the most convincing image. Man Ray 1935. Our mug is smug
Re: shooting into the sunI'd agree that the #3 is the best, I am trying to picture what #2 would be if the front wheels were turned back towards the RHS of the frame but then you still have nothing on that RHS to draw the eye to.
I love the reflections on the car and the stars from the headlamps. Cameron

Re: shooting into the sunCheers for the CnC, some good ideas for me to keep in mind.
Dont look too closely at the car (i didnt wash it) and i actually had a small shower pass over when i was shooting Im at work and the LCD really shows up some poor processing by me on the last shot on the tree line, oops! CRTs are so much more forgiving! (dB) image gallery
