What does 6 hours of Astronomy look like?

I was at the Newcastle Regional Library yesterday and they had an exhibition on astronomy from local astronomers/photogs and that picked my interest.

I'm interested in the techinque used.. how long were the exposures? I assumed stacked in PS?
I'm heading off to the flinders ranges over easter... hoping to give this star trail thing a shot.
