ooh i love the ant! great capture, he even has nice catchlights in his eyes! i like the sharpness and the depth of field, as well as the over all composition.

it reminds me of when i was a kid and got bit by one of those bastards...

Nice ones.
Agree with the others the ant looks great. I was trying to find it's other antenna, then realised it was lost due to the DOF. Thought the poor bugger had lost it in a fight :lol:

ta for comments, this not so little ant was a resident in our tent for some time - I took 3 shots of him on my hands and knees as he departed.

I go looking for more extreme items when I see those bastards in the backyard..... generally poison, but I'm going to get a mappgas and burn the little bastards right up. Seriously -- these ants jump - and if they see you/your shadow they will try to attack you and bite, they are the most aggressive insect I have ever seen.

Did I mention they are bastards? Oh - and be careful, some people are highly allergic to their bite, one neighbour carries an epi-pen at all times outside :shock:

hmm, this one musta been an old codger, while he was firey i did manage to get pretty darn close and with my nose on the ground..... I will certianly have a newfound respect for them though, even with just those nippers they look nasty :lol:
