Taken from my laundry window and backlit by the setting sun. This time of year I have heaps of these beauties around the house and they seem to grow nice and fat so there must be plenty of food.

Apologies for the pun in the subject line - I couldn't help myself.

Whilst the golden ord spiders are not particularly dangerous, they still send shivers down my spine, especially the ones with the huge bums...and especially since i ran into a web with one on a bike ride at olympic park

you always see these gals out in autumn and i reckon they make great pictures, especially with their mate(s) and clingons in the webs.

Good detail in the web there and she has a nice fat bum. :biglaugh:

If you want to see even more of these than you see around Hombush Bay then head over to Lord Howe Island.
I remember barbed wire fence lines that were clmost entirely webs and spiders for at least 500m.

I think the shot would be much better as an empty web.
