I have an idea with the golf ball as well but it's much harder to pull it off because I don't know anyone who'd agree to a shoot on the course.

whatever you do, make sure they are half decent , I know with my recent attempts (love hate relationship) anyone within a 50 metre radius is in danger, let alone a person with a camera

Thanks for the tip! I was thinking about photographing the ball seperately as I have done here. It would be cool to get a shot with sand + ball flying in the air.... It would be difficult to get the exposure right for the ball I guess (reflective isn't it?). I was hoping to use the flash to subdue the ambient like this photo.
