The Autumn foliage is more than a little spectacular this year
THese were all taken on a walk around the neighbourhood last week. It was just on dusk & I was handheld so the photos are not as sharp as I would like, still it is the colour I am trying to portray. I have pushed saturation a bit.


And its not just foliage... After eating some of these, I was seeing fairies

And its not just the exotics putting on a display at the moment...

Very nice pictures. I prefer the first one because of its rich red.

Very quinessential Blue Mountains, i love the bright..bright red leaves and the contrasting, almost, black trunk...

Great colours from a wonderful area, (I was born at Springwood). Favourite time of the year. I shot a wedding on Saturday in Armidale and we had similar colours to play with.

Fungi look interesting - did you get up close and do any macros?

These ones are, but there are lots of other deciduous trees in colour at the moment too. The 4 photo limit meant the other photos didn't make the cut.

No. Sorry. We were out for our daily constitutional -intended as exercise & therefore no stopping usually. Usually we don't carry camera, but I have been so taken by the colours, I have grabbed it for a few of the walks recently. The fungi were a different walk to the others. They were taken with the 24-70. The others were with the 85/1.4. I went past the fungi again today. They are looking decidedly past it now. If I see some more, I'll try for a macro or two.

That first photo is beautiful - nice work for handheld at dusk! Love that vibrant red against the black tree limbs

Long time no see

The 85 f1.4 helped a lot. So did pushing the ISO to 1250 Still the D200 is not supposed to like it that high. I was pleasantly surprised. The lens explains why they were mostly detail shots. PS I like the new Avatar (and the Sweet Potato Salad)

Thanks, Mr Darcy It's been awhile since I was about - work has been berkers for the past 6 months and to be honest, I really haven't taken the camera out much but I'm hoping to change that now
