Now I wish I'd gone to shoot the St. Patrick's Parade instead of the Tall Ships on the Harbour... Nice shots Matt... (as always)

They're not very good... I made the mistake of shooting from Mrs. Macquarie's chair - into the sun... most of my better composed shots are very overexposed (even with the CPL Birdy)... I'll see if I can clean a few up for posting tomorrow...

I didn't spot our members, but did spot the ship that they were on - it came out about 5 minutes before the others...

None of the ships had their sails unfurled when they passed me, so it was pretty unspectacular... Having been on the Svanen before I know that they drop the sails later in the day...

I hope that Stubbsy and Christiand took better shots than I did - otherwise they'll be disappointed...

Matt

I find the darkness of the image detracts from the subject matter in the first shot. Love the playful composition of the second one and the second last shot (of the honorary irishman) where you really captured a great expression in the young man's face.

Leek and others - re tall ships Christian & I had a great day. Ships put up sails at sea and we sailed back into port at the end of the day. In hindsight it would have been better for those on land to take shots then, especially as the sun would have been behind you.

Thanks Peter...for the critique...makes me go back and look and think. Any tall ship pics to look at? I would have loved to have gone on that trip but alas!
