Just looking for some feedback on some conversions I did on some old shots. C&C much appreciated on the conversions as well as the shots.

ATM they are basic B&W images.... add some drama.... increase the contrast, darken down the corners...... it is all in the viewing....... make the images more interesting

They are not bad, I like the concept of the first, but a different angle would be nicer. The rock is quite nice. Sometimes threads fall into the cracks, it happens to us all.

Adding blacks in the corners? Vignetting? I'll experiment later...

Yep agree, sometimes threads do fall into cracks, frustrating when you are looking for feedback lol...

OK, who can guess the animal from #1?

sometimes threads do fall into cracks,

yeah this one really slipped thru my crack (did i just say that  ) - did not even notice until today.

whilst not being a BW expert, I think these have been nicely converted, the blacks are *black* and the images nice and contrasty, the first image is quite neat, my first impression was that the actual eye was out of focus, but I could be wrong there since after a second look it seems spot on, maybe just the fact that hairs are really sharp gave me that impression. I hope its a domestic animal (my guess is cat as well) not a zoo lion or something, cause thats damn close!

I like the Bare Island ? shot and the last one where to the fence poles provide a nice subject for the image!

The wheel image is good also, I really dig the contrast between the black type and silver rim, composition is nice too...although including all of the wheel in the backgound would be nice imo.

The only thing i can think of that may help the landscape images is some more defined leading lines.

ATM they are basic B&W images

care to elaborate on that? what makes a basic image

thanks for the feedback - the pic of the wheels I actually darkened a lot around the edges by bumping up the contrast and a few tweaks on the curves, actually makes the silver standout so i'm happy with that. The last image I played with a fair bit to add a little noise to the water and enhance the misty current look. btw, the first pic is of a goat.

I like the image of the wheels the best of the four. I am a fan of stark contrast with B&W images and I believe B&W images without extremes of contrast sometimes appear quite flat and uninteresting. But that is just my aging eyes.
