Hi.

These are pics that I took a while ago and have just processed now using recently learnt methods. I've included one photo twice (two different treatments). Happy for any comments. Thanks.

#1 Ok, but would benefit with a tighter crop. ATM it lacks a focus for the eye.
#2 The halos do nothing for me. #1 is better
#3 I like the colour of the water, but again, a tighter crop would benefit the shot. If it were an agrier sea, this crop would work as it would evoke the puniness of man Vs nature, but as it is ...
#4 does nothing for me. No focus to draw the eye into the photo. (I take lots like this!)

Fair call. Composition has always been a weak point. I sometimes shoot like an archiver.

Yeah, probably over sharpened. I'm still experimenting with a lot of stuff to see what works and what doesn't.

I'm with Greg, sorry none of these do much for me. The colours also look very artificial, did you change the colour balance and oversaturate??

Oversaturate, no. Over contrast, yes.

Thanks for the feedback. I am getting a good understanding of what controls I need to ease up on. I do tend to hit pretty hard on the Contrast and Clarity controls to the point where I do go overboard - and I know that I do that. It is just a matter of me learning to say when enough is enough. I think that I know enough about the photoshop controls now to be dangerous. I now have to learn how to use them properly and construct a proper workflow and learn to pick what tool to use at the correct time.

I think that my composition has improved a little since I took these (these are a little old), but there is massive room for improvement there.
