Family photo session II

as part of the family photo session in this post they wanted some photos of their kids with the trophies they had won in a competition the day before

yes they won all these between them in one competition, they are all brown belts and the dad is a black belt.... they will be getting what ever photos they want :shock:

Care to share how you achieved the white background and the lighting details?

Keith,

I am only going to comment on the first two of these images.

In both of these images you have done exceptionally well. You have a white background, and your subjects are also wearing white. With the preponderance of whites here, these sorts of shots can be a very difficult shot to achieve, but you have managed to get excellent separation between the white of the karate uniform and the white of the background.

In so doing, you have also managed to control the exposure on the uniforms and maintained good shadow detail there, and finally, the wb is, I think very close to spot on. Maybe a tad warm, but not unpleasantly so.

These are very difficult images to capture, and you have done a masterful job.

Coming from a martial arts background, that kick is very wrong. A sidekick should have impact on the heels and the toes should not be extended, and therefore the feet should be perpendicular to the leg... she will break her toes if she kicks something solid.
