Adjusted the colours a bit removed some noise selectively and darkened the bottom left.

Nice capture, the WB seems closer in the second image, and I like the pose.

Very nice work there Bob. I have to admit that I prefer the rework, regardless the composition and pose is outstanding!

Bob, great shot of this little beauty. I, too, prefer the reworked version. The composition and detail, especially in the wings is fantastic. My only problem with the image is there's something funny going on with the head. I don't know if the bird moved its head, some artifact in post processing or what but it makes the head seem less sharp than the shoulder.
I would also like to see less distracting background, but given the difficulty in getting shots of these birds, I can understand you have to take what you get.

Probably oversharpened to compensate for a bit of movement of camera/lens

i think you hit the nail on the head bob. to me it looks way oversharpned which ahs introduced alot of noise.
