first time shooting macro with the d700 and first time for a long time i haven't used a flash for macro.

That first one is awesome, the 'blooms' (or whatever they are technically referred to) are excellent, was this deliberate? (just say yes and I will be very impressed ) The lavendar stems by themselves would have been a bit bland but you have jazzed it up nicely with some great creativity!

The bee's are nice, sharp and extra interest by where they are placed in the frame, the last one I like but is just missing that key subject, maybe the appropriately placed bee? But the colours are very nice here!

The bees have it Roozsy, nice work. Have to take some macros - haven't visited that territory for yonks.

The first 3 are great but the bees win ! I do like shots with lens flare that add to the picture and the first one does that well.

The last one needs a slight greater portion to be in focus to draw you to it a bit more.

i dont know if anyone has tried to duplicate flare but its freakin' impossible. i took around 20-25 shots from the same place within the space of maybe a minute and they all looked different with those circle thingy s in different spots.

agree with the comments on the last one. i thought the shadows in the foreground and colour in the background may be able to pull it off, but a more solid point of interest is needed. thanks for taking the time to offer suggestions.
