Twilight Moonrise (2nd pic added)

Moonrise and Sunset were 10 minutes apart as well as the tide being close to right for a shot I have had in mind for a while.

So I set out with Craig VTR even though the weather was not in our favour.

We managed about 5 minutes where the moon was visible over a period of about 90 minutes.

Here's one of the better ones.

Comments welcome.

Now if I was going to be picky...... but that would be my slightly skewed perspective.

Nice shots Bob, thanks for the invite and company this evening I will try and post up my effort tommorrow.

Very nice work Bob....I saw the first and thought WOW! and then saw the second....and was like....WOOOOOWWWWW!!!

If I had to nit pick I would have to say that they foreground makes the second image stronger...BUT the moon is a bit over...

Great work, dedication pays off!

The second has such good composition- the piece at the back right just serves to contain it more than the first so you feel you have the whole picture. good stuff- did you paint the wreck?

Well worth the effort - gorgeous :)

Prefer the first one, as I find the reflection of the moon too much in the second. The atmosphere in the first is just perfect. Brilliant :)

Truly wonderful there Bob. I rather like the lack of detail in the first one, it makes it more surreal in a way. The 2nd picture certainly stands out and I enjoy the composition more - actually I'm more amazed that you actually had this in mind and managed to get it. Well done!

I like the 2nd one too. The moon reflection of the water gives it that bit of a lift. Well done.

Well... I don't know which picture is the best for it depends on what you want the viewer to look at. What is the most important the foreground or background? If you want the viewer to focus on the wreck then it is the second; on the other hand if your intention is to let the viewer appreciate the serene night with the moon looking through the clouds over a calm see then it is the first. On both counts, well done!
