One of my racing pigeons....
with my kit 75-300mm, I took a few on the grass to but the bokeh was foul to say the least... and in-flight the lens is just plainly too slow to focus at close range/zoom.
Also sorry for the jpeg artifacts in the dark areas

Great photo, but I think I would have preferred just a tad more DOF. I would like to see theoutline of the head sharply in focus, but otherwise the same.

Lovely use of background to foreground color matching! I would like to see the eye selectively sharpened (or more in focus) to draw attention there.

The bird looks to be a fine specimen...

I'm not sure that the eye is the primary plane of focus. I think it needs to be.

Great photo...the eyes and beak are pretty sharp so that will get you out of trouble with most people!
